Cool Off at Cherokee Swimming Pool During A Summer Trip to Alfalfa County

One of the best places to cool off during summer in Alfalfa County is at Cherokee Swimming Pool. The newly renovated Olympic-size pool features two giant waterslides, a low diving board, a wading pool for smaller children and certified lifeguards always on duty. Cherokee Swimming Pool is the perfect place to spend a summer day during June or July in Oklahoma and well worth a day trip to Alfalfa County.

Cherokee Swimming Pool Hours & Admission


The Cherokee swimming pool opens Memorial Day, the last Monday in May, with a free swim and offers affordable admission fees for the remainder of the summer.


Opening Hours


Open: 1-6 p.m., Tuesday-Sunday (closed Monday for maintenance)


Admission prices:


  • Children (ages 5-11): $1

  • Adults (12 and older): $2

  • Children 4 and younger: Free


Annual Free Swim Days


  • Memorial Day (last Monday in May)

  • Fourth of July

  • When Announced

Season Passes


For frequent visitors or families spending an extended time in Cherokee, season passes are a valuable form of healthy summertime entertainment for whole families. With a family pass to Cherokee Swimming Pool, a family of five can enjoy more than 60 days' worth of outdoor activities for less than $1.80 per day. That might sound like a QVC commercial, but c'mon. That's 37 cents per person! Buying season passes at Cherokee Swimming Pool offers some summertime fun worth investing in.


  • Individual Pass: $50

  • Family Pass: $100 - includes 2 adults, 2 children from same household; Season passes for additional children from the same household are $10 each.

Swimming Lessons & Private Lessons


For families staying in Alfalfa County in mid- to late June* and residents of Cherokee and surrounding communities, Cherokee Swimming Pool lifeguards offer swimming lessons for children of all ages.


Price of Swimming Lessons


Cost: $40 per child and $25 for each additional child from the same household.

Private Lessons with 1:1 Instruction


Cost: $75 per child and $25 for each additional child from the same household.




Booking Cherokee Swimming Pool After Hours


Need to host a summer birthday party, group event or family gathering? The Cherokee Swimming Pool is available for after-hours bookings until 8 p.m. during summer. Reservations depend on lifeguard availability. To reserve the Cherokee Swimming Pool after hours call the City of Cherokee at (580) 596-3052.


 

Directions to Cherokee Swimming Pool


Cherokee Swimming Pool is located within Cherokee City Park at 725 E. 2nd Street in Cherokee. From Grand Avenue (SH 64), turn east on 2nd Street and drive 7 blocks. Cherokee City Park is on the north side of the road. The entrance to the swimming pool is on the northwest side of the parking lot.
