Located on a quiet and serene dirt road just northwest of Aline, Eagle Chief Cemetery has served as a burial ground for Alfalfa County residents and locals since the start of the 20th centuray. Today, the cemetery grounds and those remembered there offer a moment of solitude and historical reminders to locals and visitors to Alfalfa County.

History of Eagle Chief Cemetery
Eagle Chief Cemetery was formed in April 1900 when a patent was issued to members of a newly formed cemetery association. On New Year's Day 1901 the cemetery association received a land deed from Geo. and Amy Duel for use of the grounds as a cemetery.

Eagle Chief Cemetery Today
Visitors today will find well-maintained burial grounds surrounding by local farm lands and few people. The drive to the cemetery offers a glimpse of rural life and widespread agriculture of Alfalfa County, which many of those resting in Eagle Chief Cemetery helped to start. The entryway to the cemetery is marked with a steel archway, built by Hubert Elliott and dedicated in 1963. Bernie Speaker served as secretary of the cemetery association for more than 50 years.
